bellydancing done right

bellydancing done right, the first demonstrates a minimal sensual confident slinkyness that beams out of her.

and Nanna demonstrates an almost a ticky quality that is equally hypnotising. which is I think what all bellydancing should aim for. You need to be charmed and hypnotised by bellydancing in a way you dont fully understand.

to be honest the percussion work in Nanna’s work is amazing also, the music and movements are in real harmony.

rachel brice here demonstrating a slightly more modern take, with intricacy and detail and control the require close observance to truly see what shes doing so well. lifting techniques that could be perceived to be stemmed from video editing of footage, slow mo, speed change & reverse and pause techniques of body motion.

Farcical Workspace London ltd

Was looking for Studio space in london, came accross what must be one of the grottiest looking expensive workspace available :

Workspace london limited, definately has a foreign run mean-ness to it, but I could be wrong.

The price list is amusing and this if for garages half the time ? London is definately an overpriced over competetive, aggregious shithole, artists have to move somewhere else not to be milked by the likes of workspace etc.

Tea Bags consistency of flavour for a standard quick brew shootout.

Recently bought a 40 bag box of PGtips : highly dissappointed :-( pyramid bags is just bullshit marketing and they appear to contain less tea per bag in my opinion …

pg tips pyramid bags

also they appear to spend most of their time bragging and doing marketing bullshit with their monkey puppet, cute though it maybe, this aint great tea.

should have gone “Tetley” tetley tea bags, a tetley brew is in my opinion consistently a better performer than pg tips, which may well be overbranded tea warehouse floor sweepings in my opinion, that tips business sounds like some kind of ploy.

Some own brand finest ranges aren’t too bad but i guess tea is very variable and its very much dependant on how long the stuff been sitting around and how long its been exposed to too much air and oxidised a bit too much. sometimes you buy a box and the flavour is good, but often nowadays its just dissappointing. but I would say that a tetley brew up is consistently, of a better quality for basic tea brew than PG’s offering. Obviously there are other brands that can be thrown into the ring yorkshire etc, barrys, bewley etc, the problem there not always available nore are they particularly any better or consistent either, this is the problem with commercially packaged and distributed tea bags, so really my comparison here is really between two brands you can get almost anywhere in the UK, I basically beleive tetley is more consistent and of a better quality than PG. And this is the real problem buying tea bags which really do perform flavour wise, and can be consistently purchased wherever you maybe and whatever time of year, maybe its the blends involved etc, but i would say that tetleys blend is better and wherever ive been has generally been more consistent in quality and flavour in comparison to PG, though neither of them are really bright performers, quality wise, those mythical cuppa’s seem to get fewer and farther between in my old age, but it is a surprise when you taste a cup and all of a sudden you have a nice cup of tea, tesco red label aint bad probably better than PG but still not great. And the value brand teas seem to taste like PG tips but worse ie even greyer and weaker in flavour.

Im sure someone in the industry could tell us whether the problems involved relate mainly to the blend choices, time of production, warehouse storage, packaging, general manufacturer buyer trends, put it like this I think the taster who buys for PG, must be a heavy drinker whos recked their pallete as this tea is just not satisfying.

Although obviously a well sealed loose tea kept in an airtight teacaddy from a quality loose leaf label, and brewed in a proper pot, has a chance of being a much better performer.

PG tips too often to me seems to come out a grey dead looking tan brown colour and lacks depth of flavour and fresh vigour to its leaves, whereas tetley often has a less jaded more subtley orange palour with a stronger and fresher vigour to its pallete.

migration assistant and transfering mail folders

How can i in mail on 10.5 get it to properly recognise and bless a manually transferred 10.5 mail folder from a backup i made, without using a full-on user migration, as the setup on my old machine is at least 5 years old and has a lot of cruft, and possible slow down issues i dont want to bring to my new system, obviously i can import the mail if i want to but what i really want is to transfer my whole old mail folder lock stock and barrel in functioning form to the new machine without using migration assistant to transfer the whole user.

Once i force may way through first setup and after having placed “mail” and “mail downloads” into the user library mail still treats them like they were intruders, and brings the mails themselves : into a “on my mac” section when i really i wish it was little bit dumber and just recognised and blessed my old mail folder accounts rules signatures the lot. any ideas i was thinking of creating a fake partition with just those bit and getting Migration assistant to just move that mail folder from this fresh and fake user folder but it seems a bit over the top considering there must be a way to get mail to bless and use a users mail folder ?

Seagate FreeAgent Drives Manager Software sleep trouble

Hmm never buy one these Seagate Freeagent classic desk drives. Like this , felt like some sort of excorcism getting this drive to behave.

Seagate freeagent desk drive

why you may ask ? they seem large and cheap ? well its not that the seagate drives inside them are bad drives in anyway ……… seagate make very good internal hard drives, no … read on mcduff :

Problems under MacOs X :

On the Mac you cannot adjust the sleep timer on the drive, therefore it will attempt to sleep every 15 mins, this means a long delay if you click on it to open up the drive, a number of seconds staring at the rainbow wheel, Now this scenario on the mac gets allot worse if you disconnect the drive, as it appears to have no earam to save drive sleep settings ? So if you disconnect the usb, it magically resets to a default sleep setting of like 30/60 seconds, and you cannot then seem to raise the sleep setting back up again, As the drive manager on the mac lacks this functionality ? This means that the drive access for every file needed goes from being in the milliseconds to 3 seconds, if your accessing the drive every 30 secs etc, this can get really irritating.

THE ONLY CRAPPY SOLUTION >

Now the only way to get the sleep settings back to a sensible level like an hour of in-activity before sleeping for instance, and i mean the only way … is to install a “32bit” version of windows under a PC virtual machine software running in macosx like Parralells or VMware fusion, free alternatives that can share usb drives will probably also work. I hasten to add it has to be a “32 bit” version of windows as well, more on that later, and then use the pc version of the Seagate drive manager to set the sleep settings for the drive, and then never disconnect the drive at any point always leave it connected to the machine, otherwise the sleep setting will slip back to very quick sleep setting and you will have to redo this process again.

BTW I wouldn’t personally bother to install the mac version of the seagate software its a load of bloatware flaff, and you still wont be able to set the sleep timer on the drive, and for more funtime will also install a mystery something called “notification exec” which crashes and quits at least once a restart after about an hour, took me about 3 months to realise this came from the seagate software install, as it is not properly labelled as to who created it, so when it crashes you cant easily identify how it got installed or how to remove it or even where it is stored (macos x find function showing its weaknesses again and again).

Why the download is 115mb and hardly any of it appearing nutritious for your computer seems strange, strikes me as the kind of software they’ve had assembled/outsourced in an indian programming warehouse and what theyve got back is mainly pointless bloatware. It also isntalls some kexts and the like when in reality the drive seems to operate fine from a normal functioning point of view without this install ? Also why doesnt the installer comprehensively clarify what the hell all the stuff it is installing actually does in simple terms? ie “this thing does this”. So i can make my own judgement call as to whether i need this software or not.

Most software manufacturers take the piss nowadays with standard installs, presuming what you will and wont need, Microsoft take the most piss with changing your search engine and home page too. And also while were at it where the hell is the ‘I wish it was mandatory under software law’ uninstaller ? so when i realise the software does little except diminish the power of that new cpu I invested in, I can kick it to the curb like it really deserves.

Problems with the drive running it on a PC :

The drive manager will only work on a 32 bit operating system, and will not run under compatibility mode on any 64bit operating system ! So if your running a 64bit operating system, tough i guess according to Seagate ? until their 98mb download of rubbish software and backup application stuff available here that is available for download in relation to this item, gets updated to fix this issue.

General issues

Why did seagate go to the expense of having backup software made for their drives, when there is plenty of software available in that arena, and then fail in reality to create a functional lightweight drive manager software for their drives on all platforms when that only they can produce ? which runs on 32bit and 64bit and can adjust the setup of the drive etc. Also theyve obviously spent too much money on the casings appearance and annoying long led lights and stuff but not given us control over the drive itself, auto power on with the machine and auto power off etc.

This product is indicative of products today to many idiotic overpaid marketing people getting their oar in and distorting the necessary functional parameters of a product for the headline vain features of capacity looks price etc.

No doubt the drive manager software will never be updated or the customers experience sorted, what they will do, concurrrent with all electronic box shifters today is probably fix the problem in the next generation of drives, and seagate will hold out month by month for the disquieted owners of this product to slowly through apathy and lack of rage, and limited understanding as to what the reason for the fault might be, drift away from the possibility of ever getting any resolution to these issues, and soon seagate if they haven’t already will class this product as “discontinued” ie transalte that to mean : “something we once made and very quickly dissassociated ourselves with and now wish to have no responsibility for, so we dont have to write any new software for it, because its a pain and we outsource that stuff and budgets dont allow etc, but we will self off the old stock while we still class it as discontinued”, as they are right at this moment in fact.

Or they update at a point in the product cycle, when almost all users are so irritated to already have palmed it off to another on ebay so as to escape the issues associated with it. After all if the software that comes with a product is only functional a year and a half after its release youve wasted so many peoples time already.

I mean why not just release functioning software first time, if you’ll eventually make it function properly it means you have the skill to do it first time, software updates have in general enabled software developers to launch a half functional product, by the additonal use of a weak promise to fix the problems in the future as they go along, this soon gets forgotten, We need a return to the N64 ROM style of coding, where everything is seriously debugged because the consequences financially of recalling a million carts that are wrong is to scary for the software company to consider : result : they code it write the first time round and for its release.

But software is not all bad news , no not all, theres so much wonderfull software out there, for instance theres well coded software like …… Word Counter for mac os X, which tells me, that seagate not writing decent software for their desktop drives has caused me to write 1506 words, which would have no need to even exist otherwise, and to lose several hours of my life writing this, and researching the myriad of other likewise afflicted owners and their thoughts, solutions and stress in relation to this product also. This is the true picture of this supposed idyll of modern ‘lifestyle computing’, that its all basically a self perpetuating noise, perhaps i digress too philiosophically … but anyway.

Now perhaps they may begin to realise how when you mutltiply it up over all the purchasers, how the shortterm thinking and bad decision making and time saving on the software front, from their end, was only really made possible by stealing that time multiplied by a million from the end user, by wasting so much of their time, in emotion thought stress digressive web searching, and by creating so much unnecessary noise in the minds of so many other people in general, it makes you realise how a just a little more time at the software writing end, by getting their drive manager software for theyre ‘freeagent desk external hard drive range’ to function right in the first place would haved saved so much of everyones elses time in the long run.

This drive is not as bad as the sonicare toothbrush.

Dear Mandelson

Hi P mandelson

This is a communication from an ordinary british man.

After having said to myself, ‘I’ll just check the news on bbc.co.uk website’, I had an un-verbalised joke in my own imagination, saying … “I know it winds me up, but today, there wont be any idiotic story’s on there that get me aggressed”, but BAM there you are mandy messing up our country again !

Do you think there is single english person that wants any of these privatisation’s ? what the hell are you thinking ? why don’t you just check what’s left in the cupboard to privatise now, after you sold every other jewel, I mean … once the Royal Mail has gone … thats it !!! no more public assets to sell !!!!! then what will the government do for an occupation ?!!?!

I tell you what, why don’t we just turn the whole of english culture into a monopoly game ?!!?!?!? played by internationalists of no loyalty to anything except themselves ? and see who wins, thats how low … people like you are bringing are once great culture !

How does one get into politics, because I don’t think, most ordinary people could do any worse a job, than the private school idiot run, emasculated by europe worshipping Bureaucracy we appear to have in this country as a weak excuse for government ?

If you want to go down in history as someone as evil as lord Beeching, your heading in the right direction, why does every fool perceive privatisation as the solution to all problems, Its the temporary “cash fix” taken by the junkys, of badly run governments. To freely give away for perpituity, the assets that the public hands … own and contain, into a smaller subset of private hands, that of those with cash to invest for the purpose of extracting profit. And that profit is an extra burden of money that must be extracted in order to be accounted for.

The Royal Mail does not need to be privatised to sort its issues, just give them the powers to be as firm and fair as any prospectively private/privatised company would be, in tackling union issues, raise the basic cost of a stamp, but dont privatise the royal mail. If the people running it, don’t perceive they can do a good job unless it is privatised, then what they are really saying is they are incapable of the job of management. Just as much as Devolution of government power and control has proven to be the “badge of proof” if any were needed, that the current incumbents are incapable of using the power we the public, gift them …… wisely.

The only quality move made by politicians in the the last fifty years, was the construction of the NHS, mainly through the power and belief of one man, everything else has been a relative undoing of past good, for extremely temporary fiscal benefit, when there is no state of any kind – there is no country, we are just tennants in this land ! But you being a eurocentric bureaucratic monetarist can see no further than your last dull meeting in which industry types (who probably as was the case with railtrack, have something to gain), impressed upon you the urgent need of privatisation.

The prostitution of the labour party by Tony Blair, has left us with a non democratic one party system, and you were in instrumental this, think forward to the times when you will have left politics, will have you left it a better place ? Time and time again you appear to be causing the publics hackles to rise, stop worrying about what your colleagues think, what industry types blind by entrenchment … might suggest, and start worrying about what the people think, and how they would wish yourself and other politicians could work in manner whereby we didn’t have to look back on a littany actions that appear in hindsight quite clearly to be mistakes.

Sooner or later some faceless person, in a government like this one, is gonna start trying to push this nation whilst fitting in their sleep, into the Euro currency, because you think it might be the next solution to the disasters your trying to escape, in fact it looks like its being engineered that way right now, but in truth I do not wish to become a smaller voice in an even larger bureaucracy, a euro bureaucracy which hasn’t found anyone capable of agreeing to sign off its accounts in the last 11 years !. We are an island nation and by that nature do not easily or willingly, fully fit into the puzzle that is the continent of europe, or should we blindly follow the americans, we in this isle should remain an island nation, it is our character, it is our individuality, it is our soul.

Wiggers

Watched this video :

tried to write the following comment, but not enough space :

I worked in Mcd’s as a student for a period, I understand your issues with some customers playing wiseass. I think we can all agree in chris rocks definition of nigger here. People with an attitude problem trying to cause trouble for their own advantage, childish really. Sympathy goes out to you for dealing with this stuff, stay strong.

I was in a mcdonalds in Clapham Junction London, and a customer ahead of me in the line, was a white 12 year old kid, Im not joking when I say this kid was acting in conjunction with another 12 year old kid, exactly like a nigger, swear to god this kid was acting like he was a 30 year old gangsta, deep out a compton, cussing, swearing, waiting 30secs for his food and then asking the adult chinese worker student behind the counter where his order was at and trying to hurry her etc like she was his personal bitch or something, the language was awfull, insulting and rude, with a total lack of respect for another human being, he was a bling chav, benefits paid for, estate house paid for delinquent hoodrat or as I think sums it in this case a “wigger” (white nigger) man there are allot in london, what parenting he’d had wasn’t sufficient.

So I picked him up on it for the counter persons sake and honour, as she was just taking it swallowing and saying nothing. As I know what its like the other side of the counter, i couldnt stand by and watch it, I almost ended up in a fight with two twelve year old kids, who barely had hair on their balls, but seriously somebody had to do something, because in the culture were living in today, everybody just stands by and let this kind of behaviour slide, and its the short road to cultural decay.

People say children dont emulate what they see and hear on the media, this kid was a clone of every bad rolemodel he had seen on Mtv. I mean, it’s not like theres a manual on every kids shelf, thats says Ten rules to master being a complete wigger, … No Its emulation, or misinterpretation as im sure many a rap star might plead, as they are driven to the airport in a mercedes. This bling attitudinal gangsta mentality thing, is just another form of abuse, the poor aspirational feeding of the greater poor, selling them a lifestye and personality thats down the swanney, so they can acrue funds for an execessive monetarist materialist life, when capatilsm really means there will never be equality and only a few will be happily off, but truthfull moral behaviour or honourable conduct costs nothing is of real value yet is not being encouraged society wide in any way, so its not surprising we no longer see it amongst us.

Barclays tout new faster payments system Whoopee Doo

Now it might only take 1 day to send and recieve payments, I bet you when it comes to them making a profit, they can make currency trading transactions 30 times a second, but dealing with our money were supposed to get wet, about the possibility that they can transfer money in a day ! Christ !

A computer transaction should be down to the second … not a day ! Its hard to imagine we’ve lived for 20 years during a heavy computer usage era, in which transactions took three day to register within banking systems. This improved service announcement is about 20 years to late.

comment on new macbook pro review

re this macbook pro 2008 late model review :

glossy displays arent that hot :)

Lets face it apple have been ignoring user complaint and feedback for some time, the glossy screen only approach is just more sign of this, also the ibook motherboard failures due to design flaws and apples deliberate avoidance of recognising such issues, utterly detestable, the new brick based macbook is just pure evidence that the strength and thermal capacity of the plastics based books were not sufficient for them to last. That shot you show of the reflections on the glossy screen is fantastic evidence as to why this glossy only approach is misguided, unless apple expect all its users to live in diffusely lit gloomy caves whilst operating their macbooks. For a company that has a cash warchest of 25 billion, they should have recalled a few more of their worst design blunders, and saved their loyal users from paying the price. Ive been using apples since the days of the Apple II europlus and i think their attitude is getting very arrogant towards their users.
